Here is the letter that the students were supposed to give to their parents, if they truly wanted to follow Jesus.
Dear Mom and/or Dad,
I want to be pure—mentally, physically and emotionally—and I need your help.
The world tells me that “sex sells,” but the Bible tells me to flee from sexual immorality (1 Cor. 6:18). I know I need to live as the Bible says in order to glorify God, but I also understand that although my spirit is willing, my flesh is weak (Mark 14:38). In order to keep myself from falling into this temptation, as Matthew 18:9 figuratively puts it, I must gouge my eye out. I must remove the temptation, and I want you to help keep me accountable.
I want you to download the free Internet protection and accountability programs at the bottom of this page and put a password on them that I could never guess. Also, I want you to know that my phone is a temptation as well, so I want you to download the X3 Watch on my Smartphone. Although it costs money, it will keep me accountable. I also want to be accountable for what I text to other people. Please contact our service provider to see the texts and pictures that I send and receive. I would really appreciate your support and accountability in these ways.
